Steak and Malbec-lovers will be spoilt for choice throughout the country. Discover the less-visited sides of Argentina from fossil-central Neuquén to otherworldly Puna, west of Salta.

DAY

BUENOS AIRES

Take a city tour starting from the historic Plaza de Mayo to the cobbled streets of San Telmo to the sophisticated districts of Puerto Madero, Palermo and Recoleta. Visit the Recoleta Cemetery where well-known personalities like Eva Peron rests.

DAY

BUENOS AIRES

Explore the Museo Evita devoted to Argentina's iconic first lady and wife of President Juan Domingo Peron. Visit El Zanjon de Granados, an urban architectural site for an insight into the city's history. Be treated to an Argentinean Beef dinner and Tango show.

Optional Activity: Private Tango Class with a Renowned Maestro

DAY

BUENOS AIRES / COLONIA DEL SACRAMENTO / BUENOS AIRES

Take a ferry to the UNESCO site of Colonia del Sacramento. Well preserved with colonial era monuments, stroll down the cobbled streets and meet locals who still live there.

BUENOS AIRES / PUERTO IGUAZU

Fly to Puerto Iguazu and transfer to the Brazilian side of the falls. Take a walking tour that descends down the canyon for sweeping panoramic views of more than 240 falls.

Optional Extension: 4 Days Jesuitic Ruins and Wetlands Wildlife

PUERTO IGUAZU

Take a full day tour of the Argentinean side of the falls well known for its close-up views of the falls. Enjoy the exhilarating "Gran Aventura" experience that combines off-road ride in the jungle and navigation to the middle of the Iguazu Canyon.

DAY

PUERTO IGUAZU / SALTA

Fly to Salta. Visit the Museum of High-Altitude Archaeology and discover historical findings of the Incan culture and especially that of the mummies of the three Llullailaco Children. Stop by Mercado de Frutas y Verduras San Miguel, a fruits and vegetable market to learn of the local produce that goes into the typical northern diets.

DAY

SALTA / SALINAS GRANDES / PURMAMARCA

Visit the town of San Antonio de los Cobres. The route runs parallel to the tracks of the Tren a las Nubes (Train to the clouds) where you can observe this engineering feat. Explore the magnificent La Polvorilla viaduct that rises to 63m above ground. Continue to the Salinas Grandes and spend some time in this vast white desert.

PURMAMARCA

Walk along the Paseo de los Colorados, an easy yet incredible trail that leads to this multicoloured hill of bright red, pink, gold and green hues. Take a walking tour of the village nestled in the enchanting landscape of the Cerro de los Siete Colores, seemingly stuck in time and explore the artisan market offering wood carvings, tapestries, and a variety of medicinal and aromatic herbs.

DAY

PURMAMARCA / HORNOCAL / PURMAMARCA

Explore Pukara de Tilcara, a pre-Incan fortified settlement. Visit the sleepy town of Uquia to the San Francisco de Paula Church, notable for its paintings of armed angels. In Humahuaca, stop for lunch and try some coca tea. At Hornocal Viewpoint, look over the dramatica multi-coloured hills of the Serrania del Hornocal and UNESCO-listed landscapes of the Quebrada de Humahuaca which lies on the path of the ancient Camino Inca.

DAY

PURMAMARCA / JUJUY / EL CALAFATE

Fly to El Calafate. Visit the Glaciarium Museum, a state-of-the-art facility that shows the Patagonian ice sheets in a natural and historical perspective. Enjoy a drink at Glaciobar Branca served with glacier ice.

DAY

EL CALAFATE

Take a ferry across the Rico Arm in Lago Argentino, enjoying breathtaking views of the glacier's front walls and the Iceberg Channel. Begin your hike on the Perito Moreno Glacier and discover the flora, fauna and general glaciology of the region.

EL CALAFATE / BUENOS AIRES

Fly to Buenos Aires.
