1. GORILLA PERMIT

This is undoubtedly the first and the most vital thing you need to pack because without it the gorilla trekking isn’t happening. You wouldn’t want to be denied the chance to trek and spot the Giant Apes last minute! But this wouldn’t be at the top of your mind since our Travel Designers are on top of things.

2. HIKING BOOTS

When tracking the Mountain Gorillas, you have to go through a jungle with no clear paths. At times, especially during the rainy seasons, the trails become muddy and slippery. Invest in strong and waterproof hiking boots with ample ankle support. You can thank us later.

3. BATTERIES

You are just a click away from capturing that lounging Gorilla all comfortable in its surrounding. Don’t forget to turn off the flash so as not to intrude on the Gorilla’s moment! It would also be wise to pack spare batteries or power packs in Ziplock bags to avoid getting wet.

4. WATERPROOF DAYPACK

As with all outdoor activities, the weather is ever-changing and unpredictable. A waterproof backpack will come in handy during the hike to carry your cameras, important documents, snacks and extra clothing. However, don’t get carried away and make sure you only pack the essentials so that it is light and comfortable as you will be carrying it throughout the day.

5. SUNSCREEN & BUG SPRAY

Of course, you can’t miss the travel staples in this part of the world – sunscreen and insect’s repellent. Also bring a brim hat for sun protection.
