THINGS TRAVEL DESIGNERS

CAN'T LEAVE WITHOUT

(pun intended)

Curious what do Travel Designers pack when going on trips? Here are some items deemed essential by these travel experts that you might also want to add to your own packing list!

  • Andy

    MEDICATED BALM

A life saver against those pesky mosquito bites, strained muscles or smells you are unaccustomed to. It also soothes those frayed nerves when things don't go as planned. But of course that does not happen when our Travel Designers shadow your itinerary every step of the way.

  • Lili

    CURRENCY EXCHANGE

Always left with excess currencies when you are home? Technology now allows us to change as much or as little as we need. We can even lock in that attractive exchange rate without having to go all the way to Change Alley!

  • Eunice

    ASIAN STAPLE

Thermal flasks are not just for hot  water. Before you start touring for the day, put a handful of rice grains into a thermal flask, add boiling water and rice (or porridge) will be ready at lunch time. Great for those long trips where you start to miss this asian staple.

  • Jessica

    RECYCLE BAGS

Tuck a few recyclable tote bags into your luggage and do away with the plastic or paper bags you accumulate at the end of your trip. They are also versatile enough as a mini day-pack or just to hold those loose items during a flight.

  • Carmen

    FACIAL MASK

Useful in the dry conditions of the aeroplane cabin (that is if you don't mind the stares from fellow passengers),  the luxurious lodges or suites are also ideal settings to indulge in some facial pampering.

  • Jessica

    SINGAPORE SOUVENIR

Along the journey, we might make new friends and gifting a small souvenir of Singapore sometimes just makes the other person's day! This small gesture is one way to bring Singapore to the world and some day, we might even meet them here and show them around our island!

  • Steve

    POWER BANK

The mobile phone has now replaced all other gadgets to become the camera, the itinerary programme, the map, the alarm clock and the all important internet access. Phone batteries drain much faster on holidays or perhaps that's us being paranoid. Power banks are essential backup generators.

  • Leon

    BELACHAN & BAK KWA

For trips to the further continents, sambal belachan and vacuum sealed bak kwas (meat jerkies) sometimes help to complement local dishes (no offence to the chef) or ward off the occasional bout of homesickness.

  • Steve

    HISTORY BOOKS

History shapes cultural values which in turn shapes history. They’re inextricably intertwined and learning a bit of the overarching story of a destination allows for a deeper understanding and connection with its people.
